About the Artist

Guadalupe de la Torre believes that art is for everyone. So even if you have never held a paintbrush, she encourages you to dive in to the artistic process, and she provides classes to help you do just that.

She is a professional artist and art educator who is invested in providing quality classes that produce noticeable results. If you are a working artist, her master classes can help you sharpen your skills and explore more advanced techniques. And whether you want the camaraderie of a classroom environment, or prefer one-on-one instruction, she can provide what you are looking for.

Guadalupe is an internationally known fine artist who excels in a wide variety of media. These include, but are not limited to oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, ink and sculpture. Her formal art education was accomplished in both Mexico and the United States.

As the recipient of numerous awards from many juried shows. To name a few, she is a five-time winner of the prestigious Master Meed’s Award from the Santa Cruz Valley Art Association. Her paintings have been selected six times for the posters of the International Mariachi Conference, held annually in Tucson Arizona.

Her paintings grace public and private collections around the world. Her illustrations for Curriculum Press, are in public school books throughout the country.

She is a much sought after Art Instructor and has taught at Pima Community College and the Green Valley Recreation Center. She has taught privately for over 60 years. Because of her knowledge and skill, she has been in demand as a consultant on restorative art work and has served on committees selecting art for the community.

Guadalupe was interviewed by the National Geographic Society in 1992. A National Geographic Special about immigration for schools featured her in her studio giving art instruction to students. You can view this interview here:
